Event description:

A must-read text for finance executives this winter is APRA’s recent report into culture at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (if you haven’t read it yet you can find it here). The report, combined with the on-going Royal Commission, has made culture the number one topic for boards and the C-suite. The finance team and the CFO play a key role in setting and maintaining culture—not only due to the traditional role of the CFO as the owner of governance, risk and compliance—but also because finance is the only function that has the capacity to see across the whole organization through the numbers.

The challenge for finance teams however, is how to move from passive responsibility of culture through the ownership of governance, risk and compliance, to actively establishing and maintaining culture through these levers. This Growth Series session on culture will bring the expertise of Dr. Margaret Byrne and Dr Grant Robertson from UGM Consulting to create a tailored session on culture for finance executives. Attend this session to discover:

  • How to establish a strong ethical culture in the finance team
  • How to make a contribution to organizational culture
  • How to leverage the link between culture and performance

Our Growth Series events are typically smaller events as we find we get a better conversation with limited numbers, so please sign up fast. I have known Dr. Byrne for many years and can personally recommend her research-rich style as well as articles on this topic written by her which you can find here. Please note that this event is part of the Growth Series and you can purchase all four tickets at a discount.
